Contest Rules & Guidelines

Location: First Baptist Church -516 Main Street Daisetta, TX

Date: Friday May 3rd 1pm - 5pm and Saturday May 4th, 2024  7 am - 9 am

  1. Classifications: (age on day of judging)

    1. Adult / Ages 19+

    2. Senior Division / Ages 14 - 18

    3. Junior Division / Ages 8 - 13

    4. Peewee Division / Ages 4 - 7

  2. Fees: (non refundable) Payment can be made when entries are dropped off.

    1. $5 for first entry

    2. $3 for each additional entry

    3. One Form for Each Entry

  3. Participants may enter one item in each category.

  4. All items should be show ready at time of check-in. Nothing will be added after check-in.

  5. All entries must be made from scratch or homemade by the named participant.

  6. Entries must be on a disposable board/plate. Decorated cakes should be no larger than 20” by 20”.                      Cookie entries should consist of 1 dozen cookies (not including sample cookies)

  7. All entries must be accompanied by a sample and a copy of the recipe (recipes will be returned if requested for judging. Samples should be as follows:

    1. Cake - Cupcake

    2. Decorated Cake - Iced “Smash Cake”

    3. Bread - Mini Loaf or Muffin Sized

    4. Cookies - 3 Cookies

    5. Pie - Mini Pie (3” - 4” crust)

 

JUDGING

  1. Judging will take place Saturday

  2. Results will be posted Saturday before noon on the door to the Fellowship Hall

  3. Awards will be presented on Saturday prior to the Street Dance.

  4. They will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries per category.

  5. 1st place winning entries will be placed in the Mayhaw Festival Auction and all                                                     proceeds will benefit the Mayhaw Festival

  6. All other entries must be picked up by 2 pm. Entries not picked up by 3 pm will                                                             be considered property of Mayhaw Festival
